Weekly News Round-Up

At the end of most weeks I'm going to try and find gaming news, and other news, from across the past five days that you might have missed - being busy and all.

Gaming -

Good news for you fans of the AC and COD franchise. Announcements have been made from their respective developers regarding supposed release times for the next chapter.

A New Call of Duty is set to launch in late 2013

Earlier this week Edge magazine revealed information from "sources" that the next Xbox will be 'committed to online functionality '. However, the same sources disclosed that games for the new Xbox are to be shipped with 'activation codes', making them redundant for second owners. Commentator's were not pleased and regard this information as mere rumour.

If you still think there is any point in arguing over which current gen console is better at producing [insert tired argument here], or which console has the better list of exclusive games, then shame on you! Having said that those of you who are "team Xbox" should excited to hear about 8 new exclusive titles.

Film and Television -

Studio Ghibli's next movies (that's right, two!) have unfortunately been delayed for release in Japan until autumn. Meaning a later release date for western cinema! But don't worry, it's for good reasons.

A disturbance in the force was felt on Wednesday with the passing of Star Wars make up artist, Stuart Freeborn. For a little more info, he's the talented individual who designed memorable and lovable characters such as Yoda and Chewbacca.

Marvel comic and film fans alike will/might be pleased to discover speculations of a possible 'Planet Hulk' and 'World War Hulk' tie-in to the next Avengers movie. Click the link to find out more. *Warning: Spoilers after link*

Celebrities -

For the perfect example of bad publicity back fire, and some serious misunderstanding of how the internet works. You too can enjoy the hard work of Reddit's community as they prove to Beyonce's publicity team - sometimes you just need to let things go.

That' all for this week. If there's anything you think was worth mentioning please feel free to leave it in the comments below. Have a good weekend!
